Erik Wang He Qian is based in Singapore with a primary focus on private equity and financial consulting projects in China and Southeast Asia
Wang is a financial advisor to numerous China-based enterprises and an assortment of private equity funds. With a wide-ranging business background, Wang has consulted on all areas and worked extensively in the TMT arena.
Wang has specialized in developing projects in the TMT arena. In this regard, Wang served as an inhouse advisor to the CEO of Deutsche Telekom Asia and its subsidiary T-Systems (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. At Deutsche Telekom Wang was responsible for business development and fund raising for large-scale telecom network deployment projects in Asia, including projects in China, Malaysia and Singapore.
Prior to his work at Deutsche Telekom, Wang worked as a Senior Diplomat at the Singapore Embassy in Beijing and Consulate-General in Shanghai between 1997 and 2002. Wang was responsible to promote and facilitate trade and investment between the two countries. Wang was instrumental in executing a number of strategic projects, including China’s approval for the first wholly foreign-owned Internet Content Provider, the first wholly foreign-owned logistic company, and the first public listing for a China infrastructure company on the Singapore Exchange.
Since 1999, Wang was appointed as Senior Economic Advisor for the state-designated Zhong Guan Cun High Tech Park in Beijing, and Advisor to the Singapore Business Association in Shanghai. In 2001, Wang received the honor of “World’s Top 100 Professionals” from US-based Heritage Society.
Wang graduated with degrees in Science and Economics from National University of Singapore. Wang was a Fellow of Harvard University and attained post-graduate professional qualifications from Beijing Qinghua University and the London Business School.
